I too wondered if he was into S and M. Mainly because to inclict multiple stabs to him would be hard unless he was bound up ,,it was a small knife also, the kind of thing a woman would carry. I wonder if he was being blackmailed and somehow the plea bargain due to his incompetence was due to a willing sort of throwing of the case. Anyhow, it is not what it seemed at first. You have to envy the investigators who have such a good pic of what wass going on due to computer records, etc.
