The post was in response to your "if anything, my views on a number of issues are closer to Grover Norquist's than Pat Buchanan's" comparison, which you made on the basis of a comment about "cultural conservatives," which dances around a guilt-by-association fallacy. No one was talking about Buchanan prior to your mention of him.
I offered some other candidates for comparison, to demonstrate that it's more than strict "cultural conservatives," let alone Buchananites, who're concerned about the Islamic Fifth Column. There's no appeal to believe what they believe, only to acknowledge that folks from divergent camps within conservatism share a similar concern, therefore the concern can't be dismissed as being exclusively relegated to one camp
The irony here is that there's a fair amount of convergence between Buchanan'santi-Semitic views of Israel and those of many of Norquist's Islamist friends.
