The 'Friends of Boeing' certainly turned it into an embarrassment.

They sure didn't help. But Boeing's gotten so over-the-top (pilfered documents from Lockheed-Martin, et cetera) with their ethics problems, the "Friends of Boeing" couldn't clean that turd up no matter how hard they tried.
