Last weekend I stumbled on some PBS program where old men and old women in the audience were singing along with Brian Hyland who, to his credit looked rather hip like Neil Young circa 1970, singing along to Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie. I cringed, felt embarassed, and heard no difference between that and some early Beetle songs I had half heard in the background at some grocery store earlier in the day.
Good they were at their time, but can we say anything besides these pedestrian and worn fan observations about the contribution of Paul vs the contribution of John, etc? Come on, for shame...
