I've noticed Laura Bush's song of choice at tree lightings is "Joy to the World".

My own Rabbi, who participates in a local radio talk show, has a list of his favorite Christmas carols. He, and the Catholic and Protestant who are the other 1/3s of the show, have a "contest" each December to ask the callers' favorite Christmas carols. Though I disagree with my Rabbi on many things (he is as liberal as I am conservative, politically) I think one of the truly engaging, constructive things he does is to tell of his love of beautiful Christmas carols. (Music is music. Lyrics are lyrics. And when they come together as only a genius can do, who can argue with their spiritual content?) Irving Berlin (a good Jew who wrote a lot of great Christmas and Easter music) comes to mind!

That's wonderful and very good to hear.

Laura Bush loves the ranch and spoke of having quail there now after years of their absence. Say, we've got a whole slew of them in the desert behind me. They walk on our back wall just like the Partridge Family.
