To: Dog Gone
I'm not defending him. I know he has a history of speeding. I think he deserves to go to jail.
But I will tell you, I can't remember the last time someone in my state was convicted of manslaughter for this.
We have drivers kill bicylcists here who get probation.

I don't know what state you live in, but a manslaughter conviction doesn't even make the news in Texas.

It's not a murder charge. It means you did something so stupid that killed someone that you should be charged with a criminal offense. Usually the penalty isn't terribly high.

If your state doesn't prosecute manslaughter charges, then you live in a lawless state.
