A former Vietnamese boat person is now a top explosives scientist for the military and the developer of the controversial "thermobaric" bomb.
The thermobaric bomb is controversial only if you're an anti-war loon or a bad guy who is likely to have his rump bar-b-qued to a cinder by the thing.
And 99 percent think Osama bin Laden, Saddam, and their ilk are "quy ma," (wee ma) the devil.
In a typical Vietnamese play on words, he's often called "Quysama bin Laden" (sounds like "Weesama"), the Devil bin Laden. Or sometimes "Quy Xa Tang bin Laden", Satan bin Laden.
And they believe this right down to the bone.
Back in May when the poll was taken:
89 percent of Vietnamese answered approve to "Do you approve or disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling the war with Iraq?"
83 percent said "more patriotic" to the question: Has the war in Iraq made you feel more patriotic or less patriotic toward the United States?
89 percent said "positive" to the question Do you think the United States a positive force or a negative force in the world?
Only Philippino immigrants exceeded the Vietnamese on some, but not all, poll questions.
Our Middle Eastern immigrants were down there in the 30's and 40's on most questions.
I guess they're Howard Dean supporters.
