You would think Al would owe Joe something for being such a good sport. But Al has already stabbed Joe so nothing new.

No, I think this gives Howard more legitimacy and an insider partner. Howard has plenty of steely ambition but not quite enough street smarts or connections to send the Clintons packing.

Howie should be saddened, but he's not. Algore wouldn't be making this endorsement without Dean's blessing, and probably a lot of behind-the-scenes haggling as well. (Over what, we can only speculate.)
