I was just on Atrios' blog reading the comments to this story. They all have the election won and Dean as president.

Time for some people to look up "myopic" in the dictionary. I don't see where this endorsement adds much of anything to Dean's campaign, other than helping shore up Dean's appeal with the very people already guaranteed to vote for Dean in the primaries anyway: The angry, bitter, mean, vicious left.

Thats another angle from which I was looking at. Basically Dean and Gore are stoking the fires that burn under the vicious, angry, bitter base of Dem voters with this move. So, when you step back to survey the entire picture, it doesn't change much.

Funny you should mention myopic. I got banned because I questioned someone who made the standard "Bush stole the election" rant. I merely asked them what, exactly, Bush did to steal the election, pointing out that many organizations went into Florida afterward and every count showed Bush the winner. All I got was a lot of "shut the f#%k up"s and similar intelligent responses.

I actually had been wanting to ask that question for a while because I'm really interested in how the left justifies their "stolen election" idea. But there is no thought process, just repeating a rant. They really, honestly don't have a clue.
