Just to keep the record straight, I grew up in Texas, served in Germany, Italy, and California and stayed in California afterwards...

And I am well aware of Joseph Kennedy's womanizing, his anti-semitism, his "import" business, and his falling out with FDR that ended his hopes to be President...

Perhaps, I watch A&E and the history channel too much... :-)

Agreed. As another poster pointed out, the Bush family is of that type that has run the country from the begining. For the most part, I think they've done a good job.

I had the misfortune to live across the bay from the haloed compound for close to thirty years. Most of the locals consider the Kennedys trash and neither Jack nor Eddie the Clown (Ted's Harvard nickname) ever carried Barnstable County. That should tell one a little something, eh?
