"He promised this bill during the campaign. If you were paying attention, you should have known he was going to do this. It's not my fault or the President's if you weren't aware he supported this."

I was aware of this, but this doesn't change my annoyance at how President Bush bullied certain Congressmen to support the bill, even if the bill wasn't in the best interest of their constituents. That strikes me as being pretty low, and something that the Executive should know not to do.

Also, this doesn't change the fact that this bill is just bad policy, period.

Very true. The vote in the House went on for three hours at which point the White House was strong arming Congressmen to vote for this bill, and told them there would be consequences otherwise. I wonder whether Toni Soprano has a new job.
