New York, Dec,5 (UPI) The New York City Transit Court has refused to recind a ticket given to a woman with an injured leg who propped it up on a subway seat on doctors orders. Elizabeth Sacher,60, was ticketed eary last month on her way home from a medical appointment when her doctor examnined swelling in her legs. She had been hit by a car weeks before and had steel rods implanted in her legs, the New York Daily News reported. The doctor told her to ellivate her legs which she did in a nearly empty subway car, leading to the ticket. "A medical problem is not a valid defense for taking up more than one seat".Melanie Marmon, an unsympathetic Transit Court hearing officer decreed Thursday. Sacher brought the doctors note to the meeting, but to no avail. Sacher had the chance to appeal the decision, but chose not to because"she can't through this again",said her husband,Keith Sacher, who escorted his wife to the failed 15-minute meeting with the judge".This is not fair.

I suppose that in order to obtain a place of authority within this agency being stupid is a valid requirement.

Achtung! Ve vill obey der rules. Exactly as der rule is written! Sieg Heil!

end rant/

This is all too typical of the bureaucratic mentality. It is interesting to note that New York City has been the epicenter of Socialism in America and is also the electorate selected by America's foremost spokesperson for socialism, The HillaBeast.

A stroll through the history books will show that every major civilization seems to have died from its own bureaucracy as it grew until it toppled the society within which it grew.

Bureaucracy is parasitic. parasites can kill!

Arguably, America's best hope is to realize that reduction of government is THE CRITICAL TASK UPON WHICH OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS!

Summary: Reduce the natural metastasis of bureaucracy or follow all other civilizations into extinction.

"A medical problem is not a valid defense for taking up more than one seat".

Death could be considered a mediacal problem, no?

Then if a man has a heart attack and slumps down into an adjacent seat, would they ticket him?
