Thank you. Wonderful picture. This man cares. No fake emotions here.

That's right. And if the President is ever in that unit's AO again he'd better have that coin on him. If not, he's duty bound to buy drinks!

That was the DFAC across from "Hotel California" wasn't it? Wouldn't you know that I wouldn't get to eat there until three days later. Did they get the fire at the Palace out ok?

That was the only time I'd been to that part of BIAP so I am not sure where it was- it was the massive DFAC that looks like a permanent tent. I am sure there is some kind of military term for it that I'm not familiar with. We mostly go to BIAP for BK...and the big P/X

This blurb probably has already been posted; read it again and thank your lucky stars we have a President who respects all Americans especially those he must send into harms way.
Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003 12:44 a.m. EST Bagram GI: Troops Waited While Hillary Chowed Down
U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton forced U.S. troops stationed at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan to wait for their Thanksgiving dinner last Thursday while she and her entourage arrived late, then cut in line and were served first.
A soldier who witnessed the scene tells NewsMax:
"Thanksgiving Dinner started at 3 p.m. that day, so the line was forming around 2:30 p.m. She didn't show up until around 3:30 p.m.
"Once she got there," our source maintains, "Clinton and her entourage bumped everyone in line, forcing them to wait almost an extra hour."
The brass at Bagram apparently had a hard time rounding up New Yorkers who wanted to have dinner with Clinton, D-N.Y. Only six GIs responded to an e-mail sent out last week that stated, "Looking for military member from New York and Rhode Island interested in meeting their Senator/Congressman." People magazine was on hand to cover the event and wanted to interview the troops for reaction to Clinton's visit.
"But they were getting declined left and right," our source said. "People were actually telling the reporters, 'You don't want to print what I think about her and her visit.'"
After Clinton and her entourage departed, the only topics GIs wanted to talk about were "how great the food was and how fantastic they thought George Bush's visit to Iraq was."
Mrs. Clinton supports the United Nations in all things and does not support her country, demoralizes the military and trashes her President. She has NO RESPECT FOR THE MILITARY AND NEVER HAS HAD she loathes them. She made that very clear with her remarks to the GI's - she is not only disrespectful to these magnificent men and women in uniform, she is a traitor to her country. NO TO MRS. CLINTON EVER REGAINING THE WHITE HOUSE AND NO TO HER SEXUAL PREDATOR HUSBAND!

I've only been there once and had to convoy in and out. The BK was surprisingly good. The burgers where I am must be mule meat. It can't be camel, because camel isn't all that bad.
Yeah, that DFAC is huge, but it's got two dining rooms. Are you at Slayer or can you say? If you can't I TOTALLY understand!

Yeah we call ours baa-baa burgers-- same idea. Never thought I'd consider BK gourmet food!
Rather not say where I'm at- be safe wherever you are.

The President's One Hundred is a uniform "tab" that is awarded for excellence in marksmanship. The finest "one hundred" marksman in the nation. The 3rd Regiment of United States Infantry is an independent regiment also known as the "Old Guard" whose duties include burials in Arlington, guard duty at the Tomb Of The Unknowns, and real-world missions. They have the longest unbroken linage of any unit in the United States Army.

Thank you for the data on the President's 100.
Must quibble about the unbroken lineage claim. The Massachusetts Army National Guard holds the title, as listed in the Department of the Army Historical Services Office from which the following comes:
the first muster of the East Regiment took place in Salem, Massachusetts. The National Guard continues its historic mission of providing units for the first-line defense of the nation. The 101st Engineer Battalion, Massachusetts Army National Guard, continues the East Regiment's proud heritage of 350 years of service.

Another note on coins- I know that at least as high up the Chain as the Sec'y of Defense have them. I had a buddy who got one from William Perry in Bosnia.
The coins are pretty cool. Everybody is going to get ribbons and medals if they stay in long enough but not everybody has a coin and soldiers will like to pull theirs out and compare it to other soldiers' coins if they have them. They're almost like the military version of baseball cards in a way. The circumstances under which each soldier got his is unique, it almost always means he met the person who gave him the coin and there are a lot of different ones- some obviously more rare than others. A good commander will keep a few in his pocket. It's a really good way to on-the-spot pat a soldier on the back and say "good job".

Indeed you are correct. I was refering to Regular Army Regiments and should have stated as much. However, I am glad you have made note of the 101st Engineer Battalion. Did not intend to slight our brothers in the National Guard / Army Reserves.

However, when are we going to hear from those who were with Hillary, those troops that
were "glad to see myself," or whatever it was she said, in Afghanistan or
the following day in Iraq.
In this case, "the silence IS the story"!

Great photo of Dubya.
I never thought I'd say how happy I am to have a man who openly admits
he comes from a family of "weepers" to be the President of our country.

This is just great. It does my heart good to read these, and this is one of the best. I hope the President has seen some of these in light of the beating he has taken in the press. This makes it all worth it I am sure.
