Your history is correct as far as how tribes in Africa fought one another and the losers were sold into slavery. The question to you is, "If a nation or tribe are unable to defend themselves against aggressors, do they deserve to be sold into slavery?" I think the history over there shows one side willing to sell out another. I understand that the world is dog-eat-dog, but I am not sure that I would want to celebrate the fact that I was either sold out or involved with selling others out...

And there are weak countries that do not have a strong military tradition... In some places, they simply make alliances and survive... Obviously, it works differently in different places...

But if you think about history, the Aztecs, the Spartans, the Armenians, the Kurds, the Israelis before 1948, the American Indians, the Nepalese, and any African American that you decide fits the bill... You can easily say that they deserve to be where they are... I am not sure that it is the most acceptable conclusion but that gets into Darwin, acts of Fate, acts of God, and pure old being in the right or wrong place at the right of wrong time...

What has happened has happened but I think it would be unfair to conclude that people who are not able to defend themselves against aggressors do not deserve to exist as a people in dignity.. Just my humble opinion...

At one point, the Jews in Germany couldn't defend themselves against Nazism. No one would say they deserved to be shoved into ovens because they were dumb. BTW, there were Jews who hunted down other Jews and turned them over to Nazis and so on.
