Hey, try this on for size. We always hear that "Scott and Laci were trying to have a baby." But maybe that was just a facade. Maybe when it was just the two of them together, they argued about it. Maybe Laci kept asking to have a baby, and maybe Scott kept putting her off. Maybe Laci got tired of being put off, and just left off the birth control--but w/o telling Scott. Maybe he felt that she had tricked him, that she had gotten the better of him... and maybe he felt mad enough about that to kill her.

I mean, there she'd be, in his mind, doing what he said not to do, and he had to sit by helplessly and watch it happen, UNLESS... unless he struck the final blow (killing both her and the kid) and "won the game".

I bet he thought she couldn't get pregnant since she only had the one ovary and then was displeased (to say the least) when she became pregnant.
