CA: Governor plays political game his way, comes up short

Arnold Schwarzenegger loves competitive games -- whether it's chess or bodybuilding -- and prides himself on psyching out his opponents by making unexpected moves, never allowing them to get comfortable, and thus giving himself a winning edge.

He certainly employed that strategy brilliantly while running for governor. Schwarzenegger "made all the right moves ... and it collapsed around everybody but him," Richie Ross, manager of the rival Cruz Bustamante campaign, admiringly acknowledged.
