I am saying that the Catholic lable is no guarantee, but many Catholics do not see this or even care. Character matters, iclduing the character of the voter.

I pretty much give up on character of the voter. I don't seem many "classical liberal" minds; i.e, people who challenge what they see and hear. People who spend time trying to determine for themselves what is really happening. I doubt that ever happened much.
