Just run the numbers. Easy as pie. Just more "free energy" baloney like 200 mpg carburetors or cow magnets taped to the gas line.

Not to say fuel efficient vehicles are impossible. Done some work on them myself. Move away from emission controls, crash protection, low cost, and high acceleration, toward light weight construction, no air conditioning, weights well under 1000 pounds, 0-60 in over a minute. It's easy. 400 mpg is not hard this way. Gas prices have to be a lot higher before people would buy them, though. $60-$100 per gallon would do it.
