While I generally promote CONSERVATIVE causes, not HOMELESSNESS projects, the two obviously overlap in this case.One of the objectives of yesterday's event was to force the Republican party to address SOCIAL issues, like homelessness. Many of us believe that the REPUBLICAN party is not only more trustworthy in matters of national security, but also in important local issues - like solving homelessness.
"Faith-based" initiatives, the development of personal responsibility, and the introduction of market-based incentives would go a long way towards improving the lives of MANY who are now in the streets.
It would be WONDERFUL for the Republican party - particularly here in California to earn the support of the black and Latino communities by providing SOLUTIONS to their problems - and to rescue them from the "homelessness PIMPS" of the Democratic machine, who profit from their continued pain, IMHO.
