I'm no democrat, but when you consider democrats were in the White House for the successful prosecution of two World Wars, where are you getting that they somehow can't fight?

You need to read David Horowitz's How to Beat the Democrats and Other Subversive Ideas. He has a section that outlines how the Democratic Party was hijacked by liberal, pacifist, anti-Christian, and anti-American types. (I recall that he does skip a little of the earlier background I mention here, though.) At first it was FDR's New Deal, then a similar initiative by Kennedy (the name escapes me). Then, we had Johnson's War on Poverty and the disaster in Vietnam. The fate of the Democratic Party into the hands of leftism was sealed once and for all at the Democratic National Committee in 1972, and since then, it has been the stronghold of countercultural ideology. However many good contributions it made to America in the first parts of the century, the Democratic Party is not the same party today that it was back then.

You're right. The Dims today (without the South) are entirely different from what they used to be. Both parties supported the WWII effort (albeit reluctantly). Today's Dims are guilty of conduct that during WWII would have been classified as treason.
