I don't see why the US House minority leader should get involved in a matter that does not affect his state.

MO's popular Richard A. Gephardt is no longer the minority leader. That role is exerted by Mrs. Pelosi of San Francisco, a Baltimore native known for her ultraliberal views. Gephardt, who calls himself the son of a milkman, vacated the leadership post to run for president. As I understand it, the senior Mr. Gephardt was a Republican in St. Louis, but Dickie doesn't advertise that fact, just the fact that he was a milkman for a year or two. Now we know that Gephardt would like to see Terri die. Leaving it to the courts means that Terri would have already died. Who is Gephardt fooling? Maybe the St. Louis area voters!
