For the moment, I agree with Reagan's wife - - - as long as dimes, and other standard coins, have nil intrinsic value, let them leave "private gold confiscator" Roosevelt on the dime, and other presidents from the post gold-standard era on the coins. In fact, taking Washington off the quarter and putting "close-the-gold-window" Nixon, or "eliminate-silver-coinage" LBJ on would be an appropriate adjustment towards the reality of our currency: totally fiat money. Leave "Fiat Green Back" Lincoln on the nearly-worthless penny; that is fitting. Perhaps we can replace Kennedy on the half dollar and Eisenhower on the dollar with the "real powers" behind the currencey, say Paul Volcker on the half and Alan Greenspan on the dollar.

Any candidates to replace Jeffeson on the nickle? How about Willie Jeff Clinton - - and simultaneously revalue it to 3c and make it out of pinewood?
