Oh yes, a record producer told my husband once, that with all the technology they have they could make a monkey into a star.

Maybe someday, we will be seeing some real talent again, instead of the so-so that are there today. And that goes for all walks of the entertainment business.

Problem with your assessment is, Eminem is not known for his "voice" he's not a singer.

As a lyricist and in terms of his "flow"(different styles of intonation, etc) and imagination he is far superior to the industry-fed "rap" stars like Nelly. One of the reasons Eminem is popular is because he doesn't go on and on about "bling" and "hoes" and partying. Instead, like it or not, he skewers sacred cows(including a number of those of the left) and defies convention and stirs up "trouble." He does so with quite a bit of skill.

He is a lot more talented than technology(and image) driven stars like Britney.

As for real talent? Well, compared to a girl I went to HS with who is now a well-known violinist(and was a prodigy) even those YOU view as talented would pale in comparison.

Heck, lots of people don't like Prince but the man is(or at least WAS) a genius who learned to play 24 instruments by ear, was a prolific composer and possessed a true falsetto. But you probably would look down on someone like that.
