If the Democrats are serious about governing, they should remember the words of one of their nominees, Adlai Stevenson. After one of his typically brilliant campaign speeches, someone shouted out to Stevenson from the crowd that he had the votes of all thinking Americans.
Stevenson shouted back, saying that wasn't enough: "I need a majority!" I have not heard this from Dean as yet, perhaps later. ROFL!!

If you are a 13 year old male, and you had your heart broken for the first time by a middle aged male politician, you have severe issues.

By the way, I have seen absolutely no evidence that Dean is smarter than Bush. I am not comfortable assured that he is smarter than my cat. For a self-described very smart guy, he comes across as a complete moron.

Hi, there, anti-Christ. How's Mrs. anti-Christ and all the little anti-Christians?

That's about all you can expect from Kristof. (And what kind of 13 yr. old kid hands out leaflets for McGovern, or any presidential candidate for that matter? Loser with a Capital L).

He did get an MD degree. So he has to know a little science. He has not spent much time in washington and he is not a lawyer, two more pluses.
Dean is honest and straight forward like Bush.
Dean has spent too much time in Vermont where socialism sort of works because it is a very small, homogeneous community.
If I were a democrat, I would like Dean.

Please refrain from that kind of post; it's inappropiate and unacceptable here.

I don't think Dean will get the nomination -- but what an entertaining primary season it will be. And the convention may be particularly bloody.

This is the most honest assessment of what is going down in the coming election that I have seen from the New York Times. Dean may eletrify the hate-America crowd, but his show will flop in places like Peoria. Kristoff did miss one thing: Dean's unabashed support for gay marraige which will turn away Reagan Democrats.

Sorry D-fendr, did not mean to offend you.

Pretty honest assessment! Especially the anger issue which will only get worse instead of improve. He always appears like he is about to loose it.

what kind of 13 yr. old kid hands out leaflets for McGovern, or any presidential candidate for that matter? One who will grow up to be a Freeper? Granted that I had advanced to the ripe old age of 16, but I really did that for Barry Goldwater. I know exactly how the author feels.

The red-diaper doper baby kind of kid. That's who.

You already DID HEAR IT FROM DEAN.
You heard the arrogant Liberal assumption that they are better than the rest of America paired with knowing they need the votes of people they despise to get them elected... Dean said:
"I want to be the President of the guys with confederate flags on their pickup trucks"
Liberal elitism lives!

"Dean has spent too much time in Vermont where socialism sort of works because it is a very small, homogeneous community. "
It 'sort of works' because a bunch of Manhattan Socialists - like Dean - marched up to Vermont and invaded a formerly pleasant rural state and turned it into their own socialist commune writ large. The state is not homogeneous, the noisy liberal activists have merely browbeaten the existing populace into submission.
