Well... technically speaking... "Hispanic" is not a "race" any more than "Italian" is a race. Hispanic is a cultural reference perhaps, but not a separate race.

Do you think that Juan Gonzalez (from Cadiz) is not going to mark "Hispanic" on his college application? Or that his college is going to toss him out because they discover (how?) that he is "European?"
"Hispanic" shows clearly the insanity of racial labels in 21st century America.
