That does sound a little like the "poor people's children" problem we have seen in recent history... Sad event... And I am not sure if at the time of the riots if black men were allowed to serve in the military...
And I know it is true that blacks and the Irish have been looked upon unfavorably and discriminated against by others in this country for quite some time...

LOL...thanks. Ray thinks I'm easy on the eyes too.
A lot of these riots seem to be a 'poor have not' thing. During the civil war, you could buy your way out of the draft. My father remembers a lot black people in Harlem having it better than himself. Oh well such is life.
