Whites and the Next Racial Clash in America

I have never been anywhere in the world where when TSHTF that ethnic or religious or racial identity was not pivotal.

We are a young Republic, I doubt we will be much different nor have we been in the past.

However, there are other forces at work that will do the job prior to racial/ethnic tensions. Unfortunately, some folks of particular races and religions are mostly in one camp or the other.

I see all of this as unavoidable baring a cataclysm instigated by a third party.

Walter Williams brought up this subject. He appealed to all the blacks who wanted to start a race war to count how many blacks are in the country vs. how many whites. His conclusion was the blacks are a bit out numbered.

What concerns Swain the most is such groups now seem to be finding an audience among mainstream whites whose gripes about racial preferences and high crime rates among blacks have been tuned out by white liberal politicians. Though she has no proof that the membership of such groups is mushrooming, their influence is being felt widely. Indeed, some of the rhetoric used by white nationalists is indistinguishable from the verbiage used by President Bush in his assault on the "quotas" supposedly used by the University of Michigan. "If we keep going down this road, it's going to increasingly pit racial groups against each other," she warns. "Some white people, who are otherwise good people, who don't hate blacks, are going to be pushed into the arms of these extremists if we don't change course."

Which road is the road to ruin? was it the quota road or the non quota road? Im so confused.

The underlying cause: a swelling "black nationalist" movement fueled by simmering resentment of intelligent, successful, hard working whites like those that created America. "There's nothing special about the U.S. that says we couldn't have ethnic cleansing and violence here like in Zimbabwe."

She's smart as well as pretty. The more racial preferences are pushed, the more likely such a backlash is.

I'm calling BS on that one...sure whites are pissed that they receive uneven treatment in the name of "leveling the field" but epidemic violence?

The only circumstance where I could see a flash of white violence would be in response to a major riot -- where rioters come into white neighborhoods, wrech stuff, and kill a few people. In such a circumstance, it wouldn't be hard to round up a bunch for a retaliatory raid

How to make a racist out of a good person (and I have seen it happen):

1. Get a civil service job (let's say NYPD)
2. Take The Sergeant's Test and score a 95
3. Have a minority who failed the test (got below 65) and gets promoted to Sergeant and you don't
4. And presto - a decent white person who now hates all non-whites
5. Multiply by all the city, state and federal jobs

Apparently they have not looked close enough at Africa and Eastern Europe to see how tribalism keeps a society down. However, this is amazing. Historically black people were in chains,oppressed,and discriminated against and there hasn't been a nationwide swath of violence against people. White people are going to go crazy because of racial preferences??? I don't look so low upon Americans to think that way myself.

People can only be pushed if they want to. There are plenty of black people who are not racist towards whites despite the treatment they endured in this country.

OK, I admit THIS TIME I only read beyond post #4 or #5... However, it doesn't take a genius to point out that such mental giants as Charlie Manson were screaming the same thing, a race war, in the 70s... This is garbage. Everyone is too brainwashed, too focused on making the credit card payments, or the rent, or mortgage, to REALLY become angry and uprise, whether it be whites uprising against the taxes and discriminatation, or blacks uprising against being stereotyped by white liberals... There won't EVER, NEVER be a war between the races, because if any of us had the gumption to war, it would be against the tyranny we are slowly but surely being placed under!)

THANK YOU... I read the whole thread and you didn't miss much. While I understand the author's intent, I do not believe there will ever be a race war. I'm very sorry to disappoint some, but not going to happen. I'm amazed at how people will readily give up on American ideals.

You bet. And having the unfortunate experience of having to be in the 92 Los Angeles riots, I'll tell anyone here, it can happen, and will happen again. It was nothing short of war, with dozens brutally murdered, with brutal crippling effects on thousands of businesses and the economy.

I wouldn't advise anyone nowadays to be inside of large population centers. Compounded by the potential for riots and race wars, add terrorism, and the chances of a major event are very real. I've seen it close up.

Being about 120 miles from a major city, like NY, LA, Detroit, or Dallas, is very desirable, as one still has access to the city, yet is far enough away to be relatively safe.

A lot of "inner-city" blacks don't feel this in their gut. Remember they spend their entire day where they are the overwhelming majority, The "race-war" enthusiasts also might be counting on their being a more cohesive group than the white majority, and more willing to use violence.

A small force with high willingness to fight can prevail over a larger group with a lower cohesiveness and lower individual willingness to fight. Just ask the Israelis about their experiences in 1967 and 1973
