Limbaugh prosecutor, Democrat Florida District Attorney Barry Krischer, would appear to be a political supporter of Democrat Carol Roberts, who is running for Congress.
Here are the only results a search of FEC donations turns up from anyone named Krischer in West Palm Beach, where Krischer lives. It would appear to be a listing for his wife:

Carol Roberts received attention for her role in the last Presidential election, when she demanded a manual recount of the ballots in Palm Beach County.

But more significantly, in view of the Limbaugh case, she has been running ads encouraging people to buy prescription drugs illegally.
Roberts launches TV campaign (Carol Roberts Promoting Illegal Drug Purchases)
She operates a toll free number: "Save on Drugs Call 1-866-Rx-CAROL."
Roberts cites for her legal authority none other than her friend, Barry Krischer:
"Roberts brandished a letter from Palm Beach County State Attorney and fellow Democrat Barry Krischer declaring that Florida law doesn't punish anyone for purchasing American drugs abroad, even though the practice is a violation of federal law."

You're right, OD. I didn't know how to spell "lining." Thanks.
And thanks for not attacking me personally, which is against the forum rules.
And thank you as well for the wealth of information you have contributed to this discussion.
LOL!

...which is against the forum rules. So you've been here one day and now you're the Mistress of the forum rules.
And thanks for not attacking me personally,
Attack? No, an attack would be if I told you that you were such a loser that if there was a contest to see who the biggest loser was, you would take 2nd place...because you're such a loser. But I didn't do that, so go back to your rule book, young lady.

It is so, so ironic that erstwhile conservatives throw their principles away when a Democrat is at stake. I've been buying drugs (glucophage for Type 2 diabetes) via mail order from an overseas supplier for years. It costs less than half what it would cost here in the US. Every package I got had a US customs stamp on it. Now, apparently the prescription drug manufacturers are losing too much money so they don't want us to buy cheap drugs from overseas anymore.
Informative post.

Just for the record, I was asked to post this information, and I did it somewhat under duress.
I used to be a regular poster here. In fact, I predate you by many months.
I am reminded why I left.
You, and others, seem to be trying to be critical of my original post. And yet you seem unable to express it in words.
Why is it?
I thought it was an interesting connection that warranted some consideration in view of the news of the day. I guess I was wrong.
It appears I am interrupting everyone's ax-grinding and chit-chatting.
So sorry.

Nice to see people lying up on the side of Carol Roberts. I don't have any problem at all lining up on behalf of free enterprise and fewer government intrusions into my personal life. I used to be able to buy prescription drugs abroad legally and it wasn't American-made drugs from Canada, either, it was generic drugs from foreign manufacturers via a middle-man pharmaceutical company in Europe.
I don't appreciate the nanny state stepping in and telling me that now I must buy my generic drugs from American manufacturers "for my own good." If that's your idea of American values, I suggest that you have your head someplace it requires a contortionionst to reach.

You are thereby very likely to have been breaking the law.
If you will look more closely at the FDA's site, you will find that it is for all intents and purposes illegal to import perscription drugs into this country.
Here is an excerpt from one of the letters they have sent importers:
Legal Violations
Your actions violate the FD & C Act because virtually every shipment of prescription drugs from Canadian pharmacies to consumers in the U.S. violates the Act. Even if a prescription drug is approved in the U.S., if the drug is also originally manufactured in the U.S., it is a violation of the Act for anyone other than the U.S. manufacturer to import the drug into the United States (21 USC. 38l(d)(l)). We believe that virtually all drugs imported into the U.S. from Canada by or for individual U.S. consumers also violate U.S. law for other reasons. Generally, such drugs are unapproved (21 U.S.C. 355), labeled incorrectly (21 U.S.C. 353(b)(2)), and/or dispensed without a valid prescription (21 U.S.C. 353(b)(1)). Thus, their shipment into the U.S. from Canada violates the Act. See. e.g., 21 U.S.C. 331(a), (d), (t).

Even Krischer states that what Roberts is doing is illegal. He is just choosing not to prosecute her. Indeed, he appears to be supporting her campaign for Congress, which is centered on this issue.

The guy signed up today. I am thinking about pressing the abuse button. This is in violation of all forum ethics.
What???? Why? WHAT, exactly, is unethical about this thread?
Did you even bother to READ the information before you made such a statment? This thread lays the information out a lot more clearly than the previous one did.
If Free Republic wants to have a pivotal role in conservative activism, I would strongly urge that this thread be allowed to stand up to scrutiny.

If that's your idea of American values, I suggest that you have your head someplace it requires a contortionionst to reach. The point of this thread was not so much whether what Roberts is doing is legal (it isn't) or moral (who knows?) but that she is not being prosecuted for breaking the law by Barry Krischer.
On the contrary, she is citing him as her legal out. And it would appear that he is contributing to her campaign for Congress.
Sorry if it was too subtle.
BTW, have you ever met a thalidomide baby?

Excuse me? Help people? No they are suppose to legislate, execute, and interpret the law.

Let's not look for excuses for Rush that he neither wants nor deserves. Rush is not crying foul, so we shouldn't either.

So exactly WHO would go to jail? Violent Criminals, Rapists etc. should go to jail. People with drug problems who commit violent crimes while on drugs or to obtain drugs should go to jail (this includes drunk drivers). All I'm saying is that the punishment should reflect the crime. If someone is caught purchasing drugs, or in posession... but they did NOT commit any other crime, I beleive that person should be sent to rehab, that's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it. The innercity child you mentioned who shoots and kills 3 people falls into that category, and so does the person who illegally supplied that child with the gun. In all seriousness, I hope that Rush is better, and I don't believe he should do jail time for what he has done. If drugs were supplied to him illegally, then perhaps the suppliers should in some way be held accountable. Have a good weekend =)
To: sellursoul
It's off the point, but still ironic how we have some people on this thread complaining about "the nanny state" whilst others say it's the government's job to get people off of drugs.
To: sellursoul
I know this is bad form... to post a reply to your own posts... but it's Friday =)
I just want to clear up the major run on idea I just posted. The innercity child you mentioned who shoots and kills 3 people and the person who illegally supplied them with the gun should go to jail.
PS. If you all want me to stop posting here, say the word... I'll understand...

This is interesting. Krischer says that Florida law doesn't punish anyone for purchasing drugs abroad, but it is clearly against Florida law to do so. Or the aforementioned legislation wouldn't be necessary.
It looks to me like the aforementioned legislation is Federal legislation, not Florida legislation. The last sentence of your quote makes just that point, that Florida law doesn't prohibit it, but that Federal law does.
