Watch out for this Truscott dude. He wrote the odious, anti-military, anti-West Point book, Dress Gray. He is not to be trusted. Truscott is no Sam Damon but neither is he a Courtney Massengale. If he doesn't quite dissect things as interestingly as WEB Griffin/Bill Butterworth, he knew West Point firsthand and the spears he tossed its way seem to have not only stuck pretty good, but also landed in places that caused some particular yelps from his targets. I'm just glad he didn't pick on Norwich.

My husband and son are both West Point grads and I spent a lot of time at West Point while my husband was a cadet. It was closer to the time frame that Truscott wrote about and although he got the logistics right he was clueless about the Long Gray Line. I wasn't that interested in the army at the time because I was homesick and wanted my husband to get out. (he didn't) But, the point is, Truscott's book even insulted me.
