The US embassy has warned of a "particularly high" risk of terror attacks in Indonesia over Christmas and the New Year.
"The potential for additional bombings of places where Americans and Westerners are known to live, congregate, shop, or visit... is particularly high during the weeks around Christmas through the New Year," the embassy said in an advisory to Americans.
It recalled a bombing campaign against churches and priests which killed 19 people nationwide on Christmas Eve 2000.
The Al Qaeda-linked Jemaah Islamiah (JI) terror group is blamed for the Christmas Eve blasts and a series of others, including the October 2002 Bali bombings which killed 202 people and an August hotel bombing in Jakarta in which 12 died.
Police have arrested scores of JI suspects, including 34 for the Bali blasts and 12 for the Marriott Hotel attack.
But two top terror suspects, Malaysians Azahari Husin and Noordin Mohammad Top, narrowly escaped a police raid in October.
They are wanted both for the Marriott and the Bali bombings.
Police have said the suspects were carrying explosives with them and were planning fresh attacks.
