Why does this site edit head lines when it says it does not.

I have also found that individual newspapers edit head lines of articles they get from A.P., Reuters etc. It may be the same article with a completely different head line.

See post #81 - It happens.

RT - thanks for noticing! Seems like all too frequently I find a thread and post (what I believe is) a mildly humorous comment, and then the thread screeches to a halt. It's like that feeling you get (maybe it's just me) when you are in a big group conversation, and you have the "perfect" comment, but you can't get a word in edgewise until much later when you know the comment is far too stale to be funny anymore.
Anyway, if you like that one, you might also enjoy (now I feel like Amazon.com) this seasonally adjusted imponderable:
If you gave someone the gift of wrapping paper, would you have to wrap it?
If you did, how would they know when to stop unwrapping?

Yes, it happened to me. I was kinda torqued off until I found out it was the new policy intended to prevent duplicates.
Post an article, post the real headline. That's the rule - cope.

Good One. How about this one:
If life were truly logical, it's men that would ride horses side-saddle.

Ouch! That's wickedly funny! :-0

Another deep imponderable:
Why does it take one careless match to burn down an entire forest, and yet it takes an whole box to start a campfire?
Or: Why is it terrorists can move around the country undetected for years on expired visas, but if you're two days late with a video Blockbuster people find you anywhere?

If they had any confidence in their opinions, they'd post the original headline and then use comment.
