To: I Am Not A Mod; Jim Robinson
Correct me if I'm not understanding this correctly. You are saying that Jim Robinson can see what other sites we've been to?
I have no guilty conscience here, since I no longer even lurk at places like DU, but I just don't think I believe that I could have understood you correctly. FR is just one window I have open while I compulsively check news sites and my email sites again and again. ;-) I can't believe he can see what else I'm doing (nor do I particularly believe he cares.)
You ban trolls, you don't tag and release and monitor their movements...right?

(No. The number of components do not equal the number of species present. But why not?)

It's not JimRob that you have to worry about. It's NSA (no such agency) that monitors your every mouse move and click.

While I don't know the exact mechanics of it, there is HTTP code called referrer fields that allows a webmaster to see what web pages were last visited by a certain browser.
Link that particular browser to a particular name and you can see where an individual comes from with little trouble.
I could be wrong and if I am would someone please enlighten me.

You ban trolls, you don't tag and release and monitor their movements... right? The troll is humanely shot with a tranquilizer dart and gently lifted onto a sterile table. Then concerned scientists tag it and later they release it into the wild. Later, migration patterns are checked.
