Well, shoot, just let the dog have it then.

She won't get far.

My boss used to have a '96 Taurus that was a D-O-G. We used to have to rescue him from various places where it was Found On Road Dead. He threatened to set it on fire and let it roll into the river, but he eventually traded it in on a Volvo.

On the other hand, I have a Ford Explorer with 110k+ miles on it that has given good service. It quit on me once because of a clogged fuel filter but other than that it has run fine. Other than routine maintenance I've had to replace the timing belt and the power steering motor, that's all. Although at the moment it looks like there's something wrong with the heater . . . sigh.

Given the size of the door, I was guessing Ford Crown Victoria, same era.
