I doubt it....the dad wanted to stay in Iran. The mom wanted to leave. She left him there, and to my knowledge he's still there and hasn't seen his daughter since 1979 since he refuses to leave Iran and she, for obvious reasons, refuses to go there. (She is afraid he's got some arranged marriage waiting for her there.)
