Every government program is "vital." That's why we can never eliminate anything. We'll just keep on our merry, bankrupt way and tax the "rich" for the money we need. I can tell you have never had experience with a autistic child or adult. The wear on a marriage, family and then trickle down effect into the community is staggering.!!

"I can tell you have never had experience with a autistic child or adult. The wear on a marriage, family and then trickle down effect into the community is staggering.!!"I know autistic kids and their parents and I have no idea what you're talking about. Especially the bit about how it's staggering to the community???

I didn't mean to come off as insensitive in my last post but it seemed that you were being overly dramatic. Although I suppose I might come off like that too if it were something that affected me more directly.

This program needs to be income based. Middle class parents should qualify, wealthy should not.

No offense but it is the role of the government to care for autistic children? Or would it be more appropriate for family and friends to pitch in? This is what a family, we know does. Friends and family babysit and try and help out.
