Student Puts Repellent on Teacher's Cookie

SAMMAMISH, Wash. - A sixth grader sprayed nonpoisonous dog repellent on a cookie intended for her teacher and has been expelled, officials say.

The situation developed when the pupil brought some store-bought chocolate chip cookies to school Monday for a party at Elizabeth Blackwell Elementary School in this suburb east of Seattle, Lake Washington School District spokesman Peter Daniels said.

She handed one cookie to her teacher, who took a bite. About half a dozen other students bit into cookies that apparently had been hit with overspray and -- like the teacher -- coughed at the bitter taste and strong odor and spat out the crumbs, Daniels said Wednesday.

No injuries or illnesses were reported.

Principal Jeff DeGallier said the girl told him what she had done. DeGallier retrieved the canister from the girl's home, and investigators determined the spray was organic and nontoxic, Daniels said.

The girl's motive was unclear, he added. She had no record of disciplinary problems in school and may appeal to have her expulsion reversed.

Ok, here's my public school story. Except for one quarter during the 7th grade I attended Catholic school until college. During orientation that quarter, I witnessed a girl sprinkle saw dust in the shop teachers coffee, that same day I got into a fight with another student over the contents of my pencil box...who the he!! knows why he wanted my precious number 2 pencils...shortly there after, the kid behind me in Social Studies passed a note with a recently harvested boggie smeared on it and the words "eat this"...I didn't have a sheltered life by any means, the nuns in Parochial school would beat the tar out of us for things like that...you learn respect fast when an 80 year old woman in a habit slaps you silly...
