Although his presidency is still unfolding, so we don't yet have the perspective of time and history, there is no question whatsoever that George W. Bush is one of the most consequential presidents ever.

I agree with that. Especially if Americans have enough wisdom to give him a second term.
I think his lasting legacy will be spreading democracy, peace, and economic success. That stuff is contagious, and with a world leader who is so confident that everyone can have it, it will spread.
Even if Americans are so short-sighted that we vote for a more socialist gov't, people who have had a taste of real freedom will keep the fires alive.
