I suspect this will backfire on the authorities. Their actions are so transparent only the most blind idealogue could fail to see that this is purely political.

I’d like to agree with you, but transparent political motivation didn’t backfire on John Ashcroft in the Tommy Chong case.

And Chong’s “crimes” were inarguably far less serious than Rush’s.

Good luck to Rush. He's going to need it.

Really? From what I've read, Limbaugh purchased drugs for his own personal use. Chong was selling drug paraphrenalia in order to enable others to use drugs. Or is it only that Chong's drug was marijuana, so that makes it far less serious, despite enabling others to use it?
