Maybe it doesn't happen where you live, but I see people addicted to prescription drugs going to prison all the time. Usually they are people who have been caught more than once or who were caught forging prescriptions, stealing to buy drugs, etc. I'm a lawyer who represents these people. It's very common for people to develop serious problems with prescription drugs. And some of these drugs appear to be every bit as addictive or more than drugs like meth, cocaine and so on.

He was addicted to morphine, and got off of that with methadone. Then he started back in on hydrocodone, and then oxycodone. And he got it all from the VA.
