[history]
A Senate committee voted Wednesday to send a deficit bond proposal to the full Senate that differs significantly from the one presented by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The Senate's version calls for the $15 billion bond to be paid off in about seven years, instead of as long as 30 years in Schwarzenegger's plan.

If there is no tax increase tied to the shorter payback it sounds good. I don't understand how they plan to pay the bonds back without substantial spending cuts since they would in effect need to turn the current deficits into surpluses.

Arnold wins again.
The argument is no longer about whether a Bond Measure is a good idea, only on which idea for the Bond is better. Arnold's is clearly better and he has the mandate of the people behind him.
John Burton has met his match.

Merely a chess game move to force Ahnold to raise taxes "In the short term"...........If you read between the lines.
They will stop at nothing to get taxes increased. Always more and never less. Funny how they have solutions only now right? I'd toss that entire legislature in jail. Don't trust any of them Ahnold!

Arnold wins again. The argument is no longer about whether a Bond Measure is a good idea, only on which idea for the Bond is betterIn whos world do you live. The bond issue is a long way from being resolved.
In fact, the bond measure, coupled with the rumored SB60 look-a-like next spring just might be Schwarzeneggers' ticket to a recall.
Never underestimate the committment of either the California liberal or the 12% on the conservative right. Both have equally good reason to see the bond fail.
