UNITED NATIONS (AFP) - UN Secretary General Kofi Annan on Monday delivered a message of support to the Palestinians, saying he felt the "deepest solidarity" with their "continued suffering." Just days after issuing a report denouncing the controversial security barrier Israel is building that cuts into the West Bank, Annan said Israeli actions have undercut hopes for peace in the Middle East.
"They have undermined efforts to curb violence and fuelled hatred and anger towards Israel. They have pushed back the day when Israel will live without fear within secure and recognised borders," he said in a statement.
"I wish to join with those from around the world who today express the deepest solidarity with the Palestinian people in their continued suffering. They remain stateless and oppressed."
Annan took pains to say that his remarks did not mean to "ignore the suffering of the people of Israel" and said there was "no justification" for Palestinian attacks on Israelis.
"The terrible events of the past three years, and the dire situation on the ground today, should be proof to all that the more each side harms the other, the more it wounds itself," he said.

Well then, I think annan should have explicitly expressed "solidarity" because of the suffering on both side: the Jews and Palis.

I hope the Mossad gives Annan a midnight visit.

Absolutely disgusting.
There are 5 or 6 articles this morning about various groups and organizations slamming on Israel or rampant anti-semitism reports.
I can't imagine being a jew and seeing and hearing all this crap.
It's sickening to me.
Then ya got the Saudis ramping up a air force base close to Israel, staffing and reconditioning it.
I smell something brewing.

Aw, what a load of the brown stuff. Of course he meant to "...ignore the suffering of the people of Israel", as always. Imagine. There are millions out there who suck this up. Pitiful.

How much longer do we have to put up with Annan and who will be the replacement?
To: BayouCoyote
He is from Ghana and was a Clinton favorite. He replaced Boutros Boutros Ghali, who was an Egyptian.
