There are folks around here, (Fort Hood) who believe that Stryker is one of the biggest boondoggles that the army has ever seen.
The US army does not intend, in the first stage, to replace all its tanks in Iraq with Strykers. But it does want the new vehicles to back up its heavy armor on the battlefield.How does a lesser vehicle provide back up to a more lethal vehicle?
The Stryker may very well make a decent Constabulary/Gendarmerie/Carabinieri/Ministry of the Interior Internal Security Troops/Riot Control/ATF-INS-FBI Jack Booted Thug-mobile, but I do not see it backing up tanks.
