The mediots are so military illiterate they don't understand that when troops are away from home for an important holiday, their commander has an obligation to sit down with them for a meal and show their all in it together. It is classic projection. Because they never do anything wihtout an ulterior motive, they are incapable of conceiving that there are some people who do. Doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do escapes their comprehension as well.
