My guess is that Clark supporters are what passes for moderates in the Democratic party. The Clark campaign got a big boost when Dean emerged as the front-runner. So, Clarkies are often Anyone-but-Dean people. Moderates would not be keen on Hillary, I would guess.

They were upset with some underhanded stuff done by the Dean people, but they would still vote for him if he is the candidate. They hate Bush a whole lot more than they do Dean.
