INDIANAPOLIS -- The Marion County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of an Indianapolis man whose body was found inside a burning car Wednesday.
Neighbors said they heard a loud sound in the 3400 block of West 58th Street around 9:30 p.m. and noticed the car on fire.
"My husband was looking out and saw him shut the trunk, and I guess the inside light was still on. My husband didn't think anything of it and went back and was watching the game, and we laid down around 9:20, and as soon as we laid down we heard a big explosion. A big boom, and when we looked out the window, there was fire," a neighbor told RTV6's Jennifer Carmack .
William Benjamin, 62, was found inside the car.
Benjamin's wife was inside the house sleeping at the time of the incident, police said.
Investigators said they do not suspect foul play, but it's not clear what happened, RTV6 reported.
