"Somebody in the Administration finally wised up. By not reporting our successes, we have played into the hands of our detractors. The only news to report is our losses, and the other side is making hay out of those numbers while the Administration refused us the opportunity to show the balance.

Hopefully, that has now changed."

I think you are exactly right. We have been killing the Iraqi terrorists all along, but weren't reporting it, and now finally we started to report those also.

I hope we will keep it up.

We can't allow the enemy to win the propaganda war.

Yes, it would make Americans feel much better about the war if they heard "2 killed, 856 enemy killed". We'd still mourn the 2 but would know that they are not dying in vain.

The media enemy plays diry pool. With the old system, they hooped and hollered over the ever expanding list of US dead. Under the new system, they will lament the deaths of Iraqi terrorists with the same amount of enthusiasm as they mourned American deaths. Meanwhile, they will continue to drum for the pull-out of American forces to end the bloodshed. They will attempt to shame America for killing more of the terrorists than they have us.

Nothing is gained by releasing body counts. The media runs both sets of numbers with the worst possible spin because they don't want us to win.
