All the increases in the Federal Government under Bush can be undone if he gets re-elected, gets 60 votes in the Senate, and keeps the majority in the House. We need those 60 votes so that Bush nominees to the courts can't be fillibustered.
President George W. Bush has systematically continued the destruction of the Democrat party that was begun under Xlintoon, and will be completed by Howard Dean. This is a strategery, and we should stay the course.
We can all be Libertarians, again, after we have control of the government, sufficient take the courts back from the Liberals.

Yeah, well. Some of us were wary just what the hell "Compassionate Conservatism" was. Now we know. It's a Liberal pig with lipstick.
(sigh) There are those who think President Bush was able to "steal an issue" from the RATS.
Suckerrrrrrrrs! This is just the beginning. RATS will hammer Republicans for decades in an effort to complete the socialization of our medical system.
President Bush has done a great job fighting our foreign enemies. His fight against domestic enemies has been anemic.
Of course, all anyone has to say is, "What? You think we'd be better off if Al Gore won? HUH? Well, would you? HUH? HUH?"
I hate those people.

SHHHHHHHhhhhh!
You'll be called a communist for discussing the Emperor's ephemeral fashion choice.

It was either this or worse if the Goron was elected. Either way, true conservatives were doomed from day one. There is no true conservativism left in America.

"No Child Left Behind" is code for "All Children Left Behind," gearing education to the lowest denominator not the highest aspirations. Ask any teacher. Belay that. Ask any honest teacher.

I think it's a matter of political capital. Bush has one focus, the War on Terror. Just look at the resistance he's getting from the two groups that would most like to see America fail, the Democrats and the French. He's using every scrap of his political capital on the most important endeavor that any president could have after 9/11. Fighting the dems over a farm bill, or education, or even this miserable Medicare upgrade, would take energy from what he sees as his prime duty. It's painful, but the guy sure knows how to stay focused on what's important.

Bush TOLD you he was going to do this BEFORE we elected him. Why everyone is acting so shocked just amazes me. He also told us WHY he was doing it. Something had to be done about medicare and this is the first step, it will make the other steps that are necessary less "scary".

W is about as much of a Republican as Richard Nixon....Only more mendacious and with a creepier staff. After his re-election and the inevitable budgetary meltdown with its concurrent hyper-inflation (try it on for size, half a trillion dollar deficit, or 500 billion dollar deficit), the resemblance will be even more obvious.
When Thomas Dewey was threatened by Dutch Schultz or Lucky Luciano, which ever gangster it was, he responded by turning on the lights inside his car at night so as to be well illuminated for any potential assassins. Lets see W went to London with only, what was it, 15,000 cops providing security? That is a microcosm of the decline of the Republican Party in our lifetimes. And we are to be consoled that the Democrats have fallen farther and harder?
A choice between very bad and much worse isn't much of a choice in my book.

Personally I love it when the most leftist media chooses to attack Bush for not being "right" enough. We have a local "lefty" talk radio host who tries this exact same routine every morning. As if we didn't recognize them! LOL!

From the article:
They could even vote for an antiwar, anti-Patriot Act, socially tolerant Democrat. I could vote for an anti-Patriot Act, socially tolerant candidate of either party, but I could never vote for one who will sell out the security of the United States.
If we do not stop the muslims now we have only two choices:
1. The next war will make this one look like a Sunday School picnic, or
2. They will take over in 50-100 years.

I would like to know just where the growth is. After 9/11 we had to spend a lot more money on defense and security. The 40 billion per year for the prescription drug program is small compared to the impact of 9/11.
Remember- most of the savings in the budget during the Clinton years were in defense cuts. A budget can go up or down but the why is the important thing.
