Politically obsessed people are sure the trip was part of his reelection campaign, with Bush fans excited by and Bush opponents reeling in shock and awe from the public-relations coup.

But that's not what the trip was about.
It wasn't about Bush.
It was about the troops.

I think I like this guy...

You can't fool me. This just proves that cooking is not Laura's forte. He just wanted an excuse to avoid another disappointing Thanksgiving meal at the Bushes.

Let's see, so far the critics are saying that he took too few reporters - AND they're saying he shouldn't have taken any reporters at all, to prove that it wasn't a political stunt. Obviously, all they care about is criticizing the Baghdad trip - the actual words and any logic about their complaints aren't important to them.

I remember, in the mid 90's, Newt Gingrich made a comment about being forced by Clinton to sit in the back of the plane and he was hammered by the press for whining and thinking he was the most important person involved.

Well ... looks like we have the Press doing the same thing. If they couldn't ride on the plane, they didn't even want the trip to be made!
