John "A-Go-Go" Cougar (his original stage name, back in the dark ages) is the man who gave us the brilliant lyric line, "I cannot forget from where it is that I come from," so you can draw your own conclusions about your intelligence.

I'm also always amused at the way these spoiled, egomaniacal brats give interviews to radio, TV and national magazines, take out full page ads in the New York Times and USA Today, and stand up in front of big crowds on stage at concerts, all to declare that President Bush has taken away their freedom of speech. Pardon me, but could they name even one of them who has been jailed for sedition? Personally, I think this would be a fine idea, because imagine how many bad albums it would save us from having to hear (Sorry, I cannot forget from where it is bad music comes from.)

Finally, a note about "Rock The Vote." This group, like "People for the American Way" and the "NAALCP" masquerades as a non-partisan group to keep its tax-exempt status, but it's actually nothing but a PR slush fund for the liberal wing of the Democrat Party. I work in radio, and when that group first got started back in 1992, my best friend (who was then the music director for a major market alt-rock station) got some PSAs (public service announcements) from them, supposedly just to "encourage voter registration." Everyone else at the station thought they were really cool because they featured Madonna, etc., but he refused to air them. The guy who heads the organization called him and tried to convince him they were non-partisan, but he was unmoved. My pal told him, "Every one of these PSAs says, 'If you're not happy with the way things are, the only way to change it is to vote.' That's a message to oust the incumbent, who's a Republican, so these are really nothing but unpaid advertisements for the Democratic candidate." It didn't make him popular with the other staffers or with MTV, but he stuck to his guns and refused to air them.

"We travel," says Henley. "We see what the economy is like in every city. We take the temperature of between 10,000 and 20,000 people four nights a week."

And the economy is so bad that we can STILL charge them over $100 to watch us perform! Screw off Don.

It's an opportunity to sell bad acid for $20 a hit. Algore on acid could make FOXNews, at least. Hillary could do CNN! For a really bad trip there is Dean lurking behind the trees.

We will be well entertained. Just sit and watch!

They can have Bloomberg back.

That's kind of what I thought as I read this.

..aghh Merle makes me sad...
The consumption of too many drugs/alcohol and too much prison time will do this to a man.

Soooooooooooo correct...I'll NEVER understand how Springsteen got this whole "Boss" thing going, because for such little brains and talent, he and his fans think he's one of the all-time icons of music history. Maybe it's just him riding the novelty of a last name that was so uncommon at the time that dopeheads thought it was cooooool. (Kinda rolls off the doobie intoxicated brain like the name "Shakespere")

Don Henley (had a pro-pedophile song at one time, I think it was the dance song, really hasn't been relevant since the 70's with the Eagles)
November 21 1980 LA police arrested Eagles drummer Don Henley on possession of marijuana, cocaine and contributing to the delinquency of a minor after paramedics find a drugged up 16 year old nude female in his house.

Let's just assume they (and prominent Hollyweirdo's) DID rule...

How long before they're cussing other world leaders as being a**holes and defending themselves to the American people over being taken to the cleaners on treaties & such that their incompetence f*cked up?

"We have a voice and a responsibility to speak out," says Jay-Z

This cocky criminal boasts about possessing numerous firearms ("Come and Get Me"), carrying guns to the Grammys ("So Ghetto") and being "so confrontational, they shoulda never let me go on probation" ("NYMP"). Violence invades many other cuts with statements such as, "I got the mind capacity of a young Butch Cassidy," "[I] keep a full clip I have to empty out on n---ers" and "I bury n---ers six feet deep." Proud of his obscene lyrics, Jay-Z crows, "Radio’s gotta play me though I cuss too much" ("So Ghetto"). True to his gangsta roots, he refers to woman as "b--ches" and whores amid a flurry of crass sexual references. "Snoopy Track" says, "I got a main chick, a mistress and a young b--ch." On "S. Carter," a female voice claims, "I love rough sex." There’s marital infidelity ("Watch Me"), sex with multiple partners ("Do It Again") and an approving nod to "chicks that get dough for takin’ off their clothes/All them money-makin’ honeys that slide down the poles" ("Snoopy Track"). A half-dozen raps glamorize illegal drugs and alcohol, from smoking marijuana, to "pushin’ powder," to driving while intoxicated.

According to The Source, no one dominated rap music in 1999 like Jay-Z. As for the artist’s rap sheet, he was recently charged with felony assault for stabbing a record exec in a nightclub. His lawyer insists he’s "as gentle as can be." Jay-Z’s music--with its arrogant swagger, lack of self-control and unbridled brutality--suggests otherwise.

Good list, and you are right to include Joey Ramone, but he passed away in 2001 I think.
