The surest sign someone has lost an argument on FR is when you see the following:

1. reference to PhD., Graduate work, etc.
(I fail miserably when it comes to defending my argument with logic and reason, but this here paper says I am smart, so there!)

2. reference to "being in the know" (I'd can't tell you, it's classified, but trust me, I know people!)

3. reference to Authority on High
(The Bible/Famous Scientist/Public Figures say it is so, therefore I won't even respond with my own thoughts on the subject)

4. reference to body parts or functions/terms from barroom conversations.

When any of these hit the screen, you know the poster is calling out the punt team.

If so the American establishment (military and civilian) is not the same one that existed in 1945.

Remember that USA was a colonial power before WW2. Let us not forget General MacArthur was a colonial offices of the Philipines for decades. The USA had a history of "nation" building right down to invasions and occupations of Caribbean and Central American nations that lasted decades. Where Americans had years of experiance in colonial duties and putting down colonial guerilla warfare.

We have no such experiance in this generation and have not had this experiance for at least 2 or 3 generations.

Going after the coalition countries' soldiers one by one...

They're tying to isolate us by defeating any international military support we have. Not a bad strategy (on their part) in the long run if it succeeds, leaving US with no support other than ourselves. It may work to destroy our military morale by removing any hope for reducing our deployed troops and increasing the hardships on the NG and Reserve units already there. They're (al-queda, other international terrorists) gonna have to lay low in the home countries of the units they are targeting for it to be successful though, IMO.
